Lanseria International Airport won the coveted ACI Africa (ACI)award for the safest airport in
Southern Africa at the recent ACI awards.

Created to recognise excellence and professionalism in the management of aerodrome
safety, the ACI awards were recently held in Marrakesh, Morocco.

This is not the first time Lanseria International has been recognised by ACI. The airport
achieved second place for the “Best Airport in Africa” in 2019.

“We are particularly proud of winning in the safety category given that the award focuses on
promoting development, safety, and maintenance in the aviation sector. Key criteria judging
included safety policy, risk management, safety assurance, and safety promotion,” explains
Rampa Rammopo, the CEO of Lanseria International Airport. “Southern Africa has an almost
perfect record in aviation safety and this award is a testament that our high standards are
being recognised and adding value. Our quality department has been critical in contributing
to this.”

The airport will continually look at improving its safety records thus aiming to win more of the
awards in the future.
Rampa noted further that the airport strives to continuously excel in maintaining its safety
levels: “We understand that all guests passing through our airport deserve only the best, and
compliance with all South African Civil Aviation Authority standards is non-negotiable.
The airport is Optimistic about the future of the industry and would be launching a signature
projects (both infrastructural and IT is driven to enhance our customer experience.
