Over the Easter weekend, our family enjoyed a much-needed getaway to The Duinhuis in Yzerfontein—and it truly exceeded all expectations.
Set right on the dunes with uninterrupted views of the ocean, The Duinhuis offered the kind of peace and space that’s hard to find. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we could breathe a little deeper. The house is beautifully designed—modern, light-filled, and welcoming—with four en-suite bedrooms, a cosy fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen. The upstairs suite with its king bed and open-plan bath quickly became our favourite spot to unwind.
Mornings were slow and unhurried, filled with beach walks, coffee on the deck, and the calming rhythm of waves in the background. The kids loved the freedom of being so close to the beach, and we all soaked in the stillness that only nature brings.
On Easter Sunday, we decided to head out for lunch, and it was such a lovely addition to the weekend. Exploring the town and enjoying a meal out together gave us a taste of Yzerfontein’s local charm and made our holiday feel even more special.
Returning to The Duinhuis each afternoon felt like coming home. It’s a space that invites connection, rest, and reflection—and we left with grateful hearts and lasting memories.
If you’re craving a seaside escape that offers beauty, comfort, and a true sense of retreat, I can’t recommend The Duinhuis enough.
