Accommodation Tried and Loved (Reviews)

Parrastoel: A self-catering, eco-friendly unit for Family and Friends / Bot River, South Africa

Avani Private Reserve offers a rustic but incredible experience to its visitors. We experienced this magic for the first time in 2019 – and absolutely loved it.

We had the pleasure of returning in December 2020 to experience their new addition Parrastoel: A unit for Family and Friends.

We saw Parrastoel’s work in progress, during our first visit and now we could see the end result – we were so excited to return.

Welcome to Parrastoel!

Parrastoel is perfectly located on a hill in the Avani Reserve and offers a comfortable hideaway accommodation for up to 6 people.

This is the PERFECT place for that ideal family getaway or for friends escaping a busy city life. Simply relax away from the crowds, recharge and reflect.

Exterior View

The unit consists of a spacious entertainment area with a dining table, indoor fireplace/braai area and mobile cooking stove, plus comfortable couch. This is completed by a wooden deck and wood-burning hot tub overlooking the valley where magic exists. “Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars?”

The spacious and fully equipped kitchen with a large countertop is adjacent to the entertainment area, ideal for preparing those delectable meals… And let me tell you we had a great time prepping all our meals and snacks there. Kitchen space includes a large fridge, pots, pans, cutlery and crockery, microwave, toaster, kettle and everything else you might need.

Here you’ll find another comfortable couch that unfolds to sleep two people. This area is very cool on a hot summer’s day.

Two en-suite bedrooms are available to the guests.

The one has a queen-sized bed, overlooking the hot tub, deck and valley beyond. The second bedroom has two single beds, which can be converted to one King-sized bed, overlooks the reserve at the back.

Both rooms have spacious shower rooms with a basin, toilet and a large-head shower.

“On the other side of the kitchen is an outside dining area with more endless sweeping views over the surrounding valleys, mountains and millions of miles of virgin oxygen blue skies. Hence the extreme star gazing experience at night.”

WHAT TO DO AT AVANI?

There is so much to do at this breathtaking reserve:

  • Enjoy a walk or a hike up the hill and zigzagging across the reserve.
  • Relish in the magnificent surrounding nature and fynbos foreeeever.
  • Bird watching paradise.
  • Enjoy a swim in the pool.
  • Breathe and enjoy the views with a good book in your hand.
  • …but most of all indulge in the peacefulness of the reserve, it has its own virtues.

Avani is rustic, rugged, wild, and wonderful. As we said previously,”Life is defined by time, appreciate the beauty of time” so be mindful and take Avani time out.  Visit and experience Parrastoel’s natural beauty.

We absolutely loved this eco-friendly new addition to Avani Reserve where one can enjoy a rustic and quirky space. It is soul feeding with tranquility and peace.
