Tried and Loved (Reviews)

Hidden gem up West Coast – Deus Benedicat, Beach House in Dwarskersbos.

We have been a huge fan of peaceful escapes in a unique location. Hidden gems with great offerings.

Our recent discovery did not disappoint and quite frankly (and without exaggeration) become one of our favourite beach escapes up to date.

LOCATION & THE BEACH HOUSE

Located in the Dwarskersbos, 90min drive from Cape Town, Deus Benedicat is an amazing sea-facing, beach house waiting to host small groups (up to 8 people) in comfortable spaces, steps away from the beautiful beach. The house offers large entertainment areas, a very well equipped kitchen, a dining area with stunning views, a braai and pizza oven area, a large pool, garage space. Four double bedrooms (with the possibility to be converted to twin beds) all with en-suite bathrooms and incredible views.

This holiday home is suitable for family holidays, intermate weddings, special occasions, photoshoots, workshops, culinary and baking lessons, small retreats and so much more.

Wake up to ocean views from two of the bedrooms upstairs each of which opens onto a balcony. Smell both the fynbos and the sea as they revitalise your senses. The master bedroom leads out onto the pool and entertainment area.“*

What we loved about Deus Benedict is the homely feels and incredibly tasteful decor, lovely artwork and unique decor pieces. All light and airy, and very inviting.

OUTDOORS
The outdoor patio areas are created especially to enjoy the beautiful scenery and to unwind and relax no matter the time of the day in West Coast style.

Wake up to the sounds of the ocean and enjoy freshly brewed coffee from Deus Benedicat coffee nook on the balcony or on a stoep of your room. We must add that the delicious freshly roasted coffee beans by Deus Benedicat sister brand SA Coffee CO are available to purchase from their Honesty Bar.

Spend hours in the afternoon on the patio relaxing on loungers with a book or while sipping your favourite cocktail or glass of wine. Enjoy spectacular sunsets and sunrises. End the day with a dip in the pool to cool down after a stroll on the beach looking for shells, messages in a bottle and watching whales and dolphins.

No matter the age everyone will find something to do there but at the same time rejuvenate body and soul in a peaceful environment.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA?

Deli on Main – A quick visit to the local deli for some delicious foods is a must. Perfect spot in the area for dine-in or pick-up food options. Delish breakfasts, lunches, and much local produce on sale.

Cruise on Berg River – mear 15min drive is Velddrif and you can enjoy an amazing river cruise. There is many options to choose from but Cracklin’ Rosie is highly recommended. A small passenger vessel operating from Bokkomlaan in Velddrif. Enjoy one of their leisurely 2-hour boat trips and experience the beauty of the Berg River from a different perspective.

Birdwatching – if you are a bird lover you will enjoy the area with an abundance of birdlife.

Eat out – in Dwarskersbos as well as close by Velddrif once can enjoy fantastically, West Coast home-style foods in many local restaurants, seafood shacks and bars. Highly recommended in the area is also Russells on the Port for the bit of luxurious experience with a view.
